A respected epidemiologist, Dorota Carpenedo has over 15 years of experience working with state and county public health departments on chronic diseases, communicable diseases, maternal and child health, and disease prevention and treatment. She is skilled in mixed method research and health information technology, providing research, analysis, dashboard development, mapping, benchmarking, performance measures definition, evaluation, and reporting support.
Before joining 量子资源网, Dorota was an epidemiologist with the Lewis and Clark County Department of Public Health (LCPH) in Montana (MT). In this role, her research, analysis, and interpretation helped lead the county鈥檚 COVID-19 pandemic response. Dorota served as a key member of the LCPH Covid-19 Incident Command System team, presenting timely, accurate and reliable data to county residents and neighboring county stakeholders.
Utilizing her technological skills, Dorota interprets and uses variety of tools to visualize and communicate scientific information to targeted audiences. For example, she used ArcGIS On-line to create a public-facing behavioral health and substance misuse dashboard for LCPH, frequently disseminating new data to enhance partner engagement and public awareness. With the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services鈥� (MT DPHHS) Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Bureau, she visualized, designed, and championed the implementation of a web-based health information system to serve as a data exchange platform with partners for the department鈥檚 diabetes, asthma, arthritis and cardiovascular programs.
The technological resources and reports Dorota develops not only increase comprehension but provide thought leadership and inform policy decisions. She led the Lewis and Clark County 2021 Community Health Assessment (CHA), analyzing data and charting findings highlight existing racial disparities in housing stability, geographic gaps in lack of services for behavioral health and substance use, and higher mortality rates among racial groups. Based on the identified CHA health priority areas, she advised on the 2022 Community Health Improvement (CHIP) measure selection, monitoring, and reporting.
A subject matter expert on prediabetes and diabetes, Dorota developed a five-year evaluation plans including logic models and performance measure metrics for the MT National Diabetes Prevention Program (MT NDPP). She co-authored peer reviewed articles using outcome鈥檚 data to support the delivery of evidence-based programs in public health. As Mountain-Pacific Quality Health鈥檚 analytics team project manager, she utilized Medicare data to report on quality care performance measures to advise policy leaders in improving patient鈥檚 outcomes.
Dorota is also experienced in designing and implementing programs, research initiatives and survey design. She led the establishment of the Lewis and Clark County Wastewater Surveillance Program, securing on-going funding and meeting data quality standards to become part of the CDC鈥檚 National Wastewater Surveillance System (NWSS). She provided technical support on design and interpretations on a variety of surveys including the 2023 LGBTQAI+ Pride community survey, behavioral health assessments of healthcare providers, and the MT DPHHS鈥檚 Maternal Mortality Hospital Practice Survey.
Dorota has a master鈥檚 degree in public health from Tulane University and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in international business from Southern New Hampshire University. She also completed the University of Washington Northwest Center for Public Health Practice鈥檚 Public Health Management certificate program.
Fluent in Polish, Ukrainian and Russian, Dorota is a former Peace Corps Volunteer, serving in Ukraine from 2000 to 2002. These days, she enjoys traveling as well as mountain biking, trail running and fly fishing.
